Compensation:                 up to $22/hr DOE
Job Summary:  The Fund Development Associate is primarily responsible for assisting the Community Program and Relations team as we carry out fund development and planning activities for Capitol Hill Housing, a Community Development Corporation working in and around central Seattle. The Fund Development Associate will provide support to the Capitol Hill Housing Foundation, the fund raising department at Capitol Hill Housing, and to the Planning and Sustainability Department, the team responsible for neighborhood planning and implementation of the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict. Key tasks will include database management, coordinating mailings, providing meeting and committee support, and supporting events planning and logistics.  This position requires strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize as well as multi-task. Some characteristics this person will need to demonstrate are:  initiative, self-direction, flexibility, strong attention to detail, a sense of humor, grace under pressure, diplomacy and ingenuity.  Occasional evening hours will be required.
Duties and Responsibilities: 
Fund Development:
  • Administer Salesforce CRM database
    • Create and run reports
    • Enter constituent and gift data
    • Coordinate with Salesforce consultant (if needed)
    • Oversee online giving process (Click & Pledge) and integration with Salesforce
    • Quarterly reconciliation of CRM database and general ledger
  • Process all donations and pledges
    • Generate thank-you letters and acknowledgements
  • Process invoices and track payment schedules for pledges and sponsorships
  • Track donor information and communications, including meeting notes
  • Coordinate fundraising mailings
  • Provide Foundation board meeting and committee support
    • Schedule and attend meetings and take minutes
  • Support events
    • Serve on Event and Sponsorship committee
    • Coordinate ticketing, attendee data, volunteers and donations around events
    • Coordinate event logistics when needed
  • Assist Communications Manager with email marketing and other outreach activities, including   integration with Salesforce
  • Assist Fund Development Manager with grant research, grant writing, grant tracking
  • Other duties as assigned
Sustainability & Planning:
  • Managing and Organizing Data
    • Administer database
    • Support communications and fundraising functions, including sponsorship
    • Assist Senior Planner with updating the EcoDistrict Index
    • Generate infographics as needed for website and other collateral
  • Provide meeting and committee support
    • Provide logistical and communications support for meetings and events
    • Take and prepare minutes
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
•     Two years’ experience with database management, preferably a CRM
  • Fundraising support or event management (logistics and coordination) experience
  • Demonstrated track record of database administration, with strong attention to detail
•     Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
•     Strong communication skills, including writing and editing and telephone skills.
•     Beginning experience in updating web pages, social media or digital image manipulation software. 
•    Ability to follow instructions accurately and to problem solve effectively.  Ability to work effectively with people of diverse personalities, cultures and communication styles. Ability to take instruction and work under supervision.  Ability to organize time efficiently, prioritize tasks and perform tasks in a self-directed manner.  Ability to cope with deadline pressures and customer service needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience with fundraising management software and/or Salesforce
•    2 years of database management (table and form creation, ad hoc reporting, data integrity including importing/exporting data and data correlation).
•    Prior experience in HTML, FTP, graphic design, webmastering
•    Prior experience with event logistics and coordination
•    A self-starter with ability to multi-task and work independently
•    2 or more years of experience in non-profit fundraising or communications
•    College degree
